I do it every time it comes back to me, it’s stronger than me, I have to do it and it’s important that I have proof of it right away, I can’t afford to have doubts, I have to have only certainty now. A love correspondence, a series of letters addressed to a close relative, testimony of love, passion, and the building of a life together, jealously preserved inside a safe. Through a gesture that is both filial and creative, one responds to the beloved of times past. With this act, which is simultaneously appropriation, rewriting, and invention, the aim is to construct a story anew, to continue an interrupted dialogue, fill the silences, and give voice to what seemed lost. The intention is to ensure that individual memory intertwines with family and collective memory, generating a narrative that no longer belongs solely to the past, but becomes living matter of the present. It is an act of love and reparation, where words and images erased and rewritten bear witness to the possibility of reassembling love through memory, of suturing silence with the power of creation.
